JENSEN, Utah — An elderly woman was arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting her roommate earlier today.
At approximately 2:25 p.m., on Friday, August 14, 2020, Uintah County Sheriff Deputies responded to a shooting call at a residence in Jensen, Utah.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 59-year-old man outside the residence with a gunshot wound. The victim was airlifted to a Wasatch Front hospital, his condition is unknown.
Police say the 72-year-old female roommate shot the victim with a handgun during an argument.
Police located the woman still at the residence, she was taken into custody without further incident, and booked into the Uintah County Jail for attempted murder. She was later identified by police as 72 year-old Gloria Cates.
In an update Saturday afternoon, police say the victim was listed in stable condition.
