HUNTSVILLE, Utah — A motorcyclist has died after striking a guardrail on Trapper's Loop, approximately two miles south of Huntsville, Utah.
At 3:39 p.m., on August 16, 2020, The Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a crash involving a solo male motorcyclist on SR-167 at mile post nine.
Officers say the motorcyclist was driving a 2015 Honda CBR550 as he entered an uphill left hand turn, traveling in lane one of two southbound lanes.
"The rider was unable to navigate the curve and crossed to the right into lane two, then the right shoulder, then left the pavement where he struck a metal guardrail," stated the department. "The rider went over the guardrail where he came to a rest."
An air ambulance responded to the scene and transported the man to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
According to DPS, officers the motorcyclist was wearing a full face helmet and some protective gear.
