SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — More than 2,100 outages are affecting nearly 180,000 Rocky Mountain Power (RMP) customers in Utah as strong wind storms sweep across the state.
The Utah Department of Emergency Management says Utahns should prepare for extended power outages as crews work to restore the outages in a safe manner.
"All crews are out in force making repairs caused by the recent wind storm," read a statement from Rocky Mountain Power. "We are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore all customers. We appreciate your patience."
As of 12:10 p.m., there were 2,184 outages in Utah affecting 179,543 customers, according to RMP.
